Siberian Cat Special Show in Lahti , 18.1.2007

The Finnish Siberian Cat Club and SUROK made it! The Siberian Cat Special Show was a success and an event to remember. It had flair of glamour with all the international guests coming from Russia , Norway and Sweden and even so far as from USA . Pat Cotter and her husband Bill Cotter from Shadowheart Siberians flew all the way from Minnesota , USA to Finland to visit the show.
I had the honour to have as guest Elena Hildebrandt from RUS*Fialka Cattery and her two adorable cat’s IC Edelweiss Yurik iz Fialki and GIC Veilchen Prinzessin. It was marvellous to meet her in person and to be able to get acquainted with her famous cats.

Almost 100 Siberian cats attended the show, which indicates that the breed is rapidly increasing in popularity.

PR/EC ERMAK DAURIA: BEST NEUTERED MALE

As always, the panel is the most exiting part of the day. To see who were the nominations of the different judges. Beautiful Siberian neutered males were marched in by the assistants to the panel. They were carefully studied by each judge. Suddenly, most of the judges gathered around one handsome red Siberian cat. It was number 305, the one and only: living legend PR/EC Ermak Dauria. Few long minutes passed by…suddenly all of the judges raised their numbers like a united front and the winner was declared with all votes: PR/EC ERMAK DAURIA. He is the Siberian cat, with the million dollar look! This little fellow is always in a good mood, self confident, happy and positive. I saw him walking around in the leash there at the show, with one of his owners, Ira Weckström. He jumped up on people’s laps just to say hello and created a smile in many peoples’ faces.

PR/EC Ermak Dauria has given many beautiful Siberian cats and he’s legacy is priceless. Contributing in Finland ’s high standard and internationally admired Siberians. PR/EC Ermak Dauria’s legacy was evident when his son EC Lumikissan Jummi Jammi was chosen by all votes, as the best Siberian male. He’s looks are breathtaking and his whole appearance captures the eye. He has the look, charisma and temperament that one dreams of to have in a Siberian cat.

A kitten who was the first Siberian kitten to obtain the Junior Winner title last year. She is a splendid looking young female, with a promising future.
