WCF WORLD CAT SHOW in Moscow, 16.9-17.9.2006

This was a big event for cat breeders and owners, 740 cats were entered, 54 of them were traditional Siberians.
I travelled to Moscow with my club mate and three cats, Gr.EuroCH Jonathan-Timange and two females. My male had a great weekend with his harem; yes…he was a happy guy!

Cats from near and far

I started quite recently to show by the WCF system and a cat show of this magnitude is an interesting learning experience.
This time I saw cats also from catteries that were new to me. There were participants from different parts of Russia and from abroad as well.

Best Siberians in the monobreed ring

The first day, the traditional Siberians were judged by Mrs. Tatyana Dyachuk from Ukraine and the next day they were judged by Mrs. Anna Nazarova from Russia.
Best traditional Siberians at the monobreed ring were: number 163: Gr.Int.Ch.Knyaz Sibirskiy Tsarskaya Rodnia, a brown classic male. Owner: S.M Chernichenko and number 197 Vasilina Dosatoyanie Sibiri, a brown spotted w/white female. Owner: N.Sertakova: The winner was the female, my congratulation to the owner Mrs. Natalia Sertakova. She is a true fan of the Siberians.

Few disappointments

The work of the show assistants was disappointing. Their slowness resulted up to 40 minutes of waiting for cats and owners in the ring; you can imagine how I felt holding an eight kilo cat in my arms for that long time.
Another disappointment was on the second day, 17.9.2006. It was the Siberian Monobreed ring. Same cats were judged twice by the same judge. Mrs. Anna Nazarova. This made the ring less interesting. She was assisted though by another Russian judge Mrs. Svetlana Ponamoriova.

My warmest congratulations to all of the BIS nominated cats and the Siberian Ring Winners. Unfortunately no Siberians were present at the Best of the Best panel.

The Master Ring

My own Gr.EuroCh. Jonathan-Timange was out of coat, so I didn't take
part in the rings with him. He got his title though, and I was pleased.
The Master Ring is only in a World WCF Show, therefore a rarity. The
participation is limited to the WCF World Champions and to the Best of
the Best. Winning a ring like this is therefore a prominent honour.

Master Ring Finalists

Amongst ten finalists three Siberians were finalists in the World WCF Master Ring 2006.

3 rd place: Gr.Int.Ch.Sheila, brown tabby mackerel w/white female. Owner: Mrs. N.Nurtdinova
6 th place: EuroCh.Sebastian, brown mackerel boy. Owner: Mrs. D.A Markova
9th place: W.CH Felix, brown spotted w/white male. Owner: Mr. Igor Lebedenko.

- The 3 rd place goes to the girl whose impression of eyes I will never be able to forget ! said Judge Mrs. Yanina Melnikova about Sheila.

I hereby seize the opportunity to thank the WCF AB judge Mrs. Yanina Yelnikova.
My personal opinion is that she was as a judge:

• Very professional
• Has a great eye for judging
• Genuinely loves cats

Last but not least

-At the show you could see great examples of the wild Siberian beauty.
My own favourites were: WCH Felix (owner I.Lebedenko), EC Ulyana Chingi-Tura (owner L.Makhortova), Gr.Int.Ch.Victoria Augusta (owner Dybkoliuk G.) & Gr.Int.Ch.Sheila (owner N.Nurtdinova). Feel free to admire them from these pictures, make your own choice of your favourite!
