FIFe International Cat Show took place in St. Petersburg. It was arranged by cat club Bastet, FIFe. Judges for SMLH group were: Mr. Kai Ruonala, 4/11 and Mrs.Satu Hamalainen on 5/11. Both of them were from Finland.I should say that on 4/11 there were three Siberians at the Best In Show panel, but then on the second day unfortunately none of the Siberians got BIS NOM.
Nominations 4.11-2006 These cats were nominated: Kitten class: SIB as 22 09 Yasnotka Knyaz Gvidon owner and breeder Mrs.Lyudmila Ryzhkova, club Bastet. Juniors:
SIB n 23 09 Sherlock Knyaz Gvidon, breeder Mrs.Lyudmila Ryzhkova. This boy became BEST JUNIOR in SMLH group and he won over a FIFe Junior Winner MCO boy! Sherlock was the Best in Variety both days. Our warmest congratulations to Mrs.Ryzkova as for the breeder of all these cats! Adults: SIB n 22 CH(WCF)Amour-Timange Fialka. Owned by Mrs.Inna Karpova and Elena Hildebrandt, clubs Eylur (WCF) and Bastet (FIFe) Amour obtained the title Best Opposite Sex. .
Me and my cats As I told already my older boy Amour obtained the title Best Opposite Sex, he became also after this show Champion of the both systems: WCF and FIFe. My younger boy Edelweiss Yurik of Fialka, SIB ns 09 became FIFe Champion
and he got the second day his first CACIB (candidate to become International
Champion). The second day he was best among the Siberian males.He was very close to BIS NOM, but lost against the Norwegian boy from Finland. This Norwegian boy became then Best In Show. I have to mention that on the first day Amour won against the same cat
so, the competition was very hard.
Special comment: Mr.Kai
Ruonala oftenly comes to St.Petersburg as a judge; he is not only a judge, but also a real showman. I think that a judge should be a little of showman too, because a cat show is a very special occasion. Its purpose is to be a nice event for both visitors as well as cat owners.
At the same location an OFA (Open Felinologist Association) show took place. Neva Masquerade cats participated in this show. Here is a great shot of photographer Mrs. Anna Schitovich; the cattery Legenda Sibiri owner Mrs.Svetlana Gruliova with her kittens.

The next show is in St.Petersburg on 02-03.12.2006, organized by the cat club Bastet. This upcoming show is one of the largest shows here and it's the second largest one after the HILL'S CUP. The show takes place as a part of a very big ZOO exhibition. It's an annual show in the largest fair hall, the LenExpo here in St.Petersburg. Until then!
