What is your name, and what is the name of your cat? Why did you choose that name?
My name is Jacqueline and the name of the cat is Sepp. I wanted a name which is original, and I think that not many cats have the name Sepp.
How old is your kitty?
Sepp will be 3 years old on 12 October.
What country and city are you from?
We are from The Netherlands and live in Alkmaar.
How did you decide to have a Siberian cat and why?
I already have some Ragdolls, but they have a lot health issues. When one of my Ragdolls died at the age of six after kidney problems I decided I wanted a healthier breed which is not popular.
And I loved what I read about their character and they are gorgeous.
What is your kitty’s favorite food? Any recommendations on food for other Siberian cat owners?
Well, Sepp loved all kinds of food. I prefer grain free food for him. Sepp’s favorite snacks are one day chicks.
What are your cat’s favorite toys or games?
Springs, boinks, blankets, danglers from Tabby Tijger
What does your cat love doing most?
Replace everything in the whole house! Especially blankets, love to play fetch, sleeping in the sink, drowns everything in his water bowl.
What do you love most about your Siberian?
That he is always cheerful, happy, loves to cuddle, funny and so sweet and a little hyperactive. And his soft meow. (that is sooooo funny)
What are the good sides of having a Siberian cat?
Siberians are just likes dogs! Are waiting at the door when you come home. Are always at your side, even in the toilet 😉
What are some downsides to having a Siberian cat?
Plants and Siberians aren’t a good match 😉

Does your kitty shed much and how do you deal with it?
No, almost not. No problems with that.
Do you travel with your cat? What do you do when you need to go on vacation? (Pet sitter? Cat hotel? 🙂
No he hates to travel. And I never go on vacation because of the pets.
Would you recommend other people to have a Siberian cat, why or why not?
It is such a wonderful breed! They are so friendly to humans and other animals.
Love to cuddle and to play, and can really cheer you up.

Neko the Siberian cat from Paris
What is the name of your kitty? Why did you choose that name?
His name is Nekosan. We use to call it by so many nicknames “Nicolas” “Manfredi” “Poulet au coco” “nuggets” “snoopy” … The year’s letter of his birthday is N and we have learned that Nekosan means Mister cat in Japanese. Perfect match! His name became officially Nekosan call Neko 😉
How old is your kitty?
7 months.
What country and city are you from?
We are from Paris in France.
How did you decide to have a Siberian cat and why?
Alice is a psychologist and she always wanted a cat in her life, but it was no way for me since we lived at my place. Later we took an apartment together.
She was more and more affected by her job and i thought having a pet may help her in a way. Unfortunately, many friends of us are allergic to cat. Such a shame!
After a quick look to the internet I found out that there is one cat race hypoallergenic.
Furthermore, they are beautiful and describe nice and affectionate. Jackpot!
What is your kitty’s favorite food? Any recommendations on food for other Siberian cat owners?
Since we can’t trust what come from the supermarket, I ask our veterinary who recommend us a special kind of croquette high protein with no gluten, maize, wheat, soya, beef, egg. The brand is VIBRAC Junior.
We also have a ritual, when we cook he stand on the table and has the right to try any ingredient he wants, just a tiny piece.
What are your cat’s favorite toys or games?
Neko is a great player, he is always ready to play with anything and anybody. He has plenty of toys, balls, mousses, feathers… But I think is favorite toy stays our finger LOL
What does your cat love doing most?
Definitely licking us! He has an absolute passion for this. Guess he like us 🙂
Is there a funny story you could tell us about your Siberian?
I don’t know if it’s really funny but Neko is a serial pooper! and we have noticed that each we come back home he runs into his litter as an offering to us and seam really happy to do this.
What do you love most about your Siberian?
Neko is a fluffy cat super kind and who loves cuddling, he has for us the best behavior.
What are the good sides of having a Siberian cat?
I think it’s a really “easy to live” cat, his genetic behavior is adventurous, close with their owners and other peoples. Intelligent and social.
What are some downsides to having a Siberian cat?
Nothing particular with the Siberian expect the fact that he has kind of long hair, so we have to clean him after he poo quite often.
Does your kitty shed much and how do you deal with it?
It’s ok for us to deal with, we do the cleaning in the house frequently and we brush him 2/3 times a week.
Do you travel with your cat? What do you do when you need to go on vacation? (Pet sitter? Cat hotel? 🙂
Since Neko’s youngest age, we used to frequent other places. He likes it and is not scared. Since we have him we only travelled far away so a friend of us took gently care of him.
But we are planning to bring him with us for the next holiday in the country.
Would you recommend other people to have a Siberian cat, why or why not?
I think the first reason you take a Siberian is his hypoallergenic property. But he is so much more! I had many cats in my life, and from far this is the best I never had!
Of course, we do recommend to people who want a permanent sweet/cute/love figure in their life to adopt one.
